Downtown Fort Madison Through the Ages

The Fort Madison Historic Preservation Commission is hosting an evening tour of Downtown Fort Madison Through the Ages-A Walking Tour on Avenue G on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Join in on a tour of the 600-800 blocks of Avenue G to hear about what once was in our historic downtown and what is there today.

The guided tour will start at 622 7^th Street at Boozy Rae’s, which once was Hesse’s Clothing Store for nearly a decade. Each participant will receive a booklet of the buildings featured in the tour. Copies are limited and reservations are recommended.

A goodwill donation will be accepted at the event with proceeds going towards projects of the Fort Madison Preservation Commission.
