About the Campaign
Rexburg's historic Tabernacle Civic Center was built in 1911 as a community effort to establish a space to gather. Following the Teton Dam Flood in 1976, the building sustained substantial damage. The City of Rexburg purchased the building and made critical repairs to preserve the space and ensure the safety of the structure. In the time since, the Tabernacle is showing signs of significant wear. The City is seeking financial support to restore the building and renovate it into a venue best suited for the needs of today and tomorrow.
The campaign seeks to raise five million dollars in total to make the repairs and enhancements necessary to prepare the facility for the next generation and preserve it for many more to come. Many efforts will be made to allow the Rexburg community and all who have experienced the rich history of the Civic Center to contribute to its restoration. Fundraising events, donation drives, and community outreach programs will be organized to engage both residents and visitors in supporting this important cause.
