Break out your pumpkins, ghosts, ghouls, and goblins—it’s time to decorate for Arcola’s 2nd Porch Decorating Contest! As fall settles in and a hint of spookiness fills the air, we invite you to get creative and help bring some seasonal magic to life in our community. Neighbors and visitors can walk or drive around town to take in the eerie displays and enjoy the fun along the way.

Complete the form below and drop off your registration and $5 fee at City Hall by Monday, October 19th. Online registration is also available for added convenience.

Judging will take place the evening of Monday, October 22nd. Please make sure your porch is fully decorated, with any lights and/or sounds turned on during the time of judging.

Winners in each category will be announced on October 23rd and featured in the County Chronicle.

The winner of the “Fall Festive” category will receive a $50 Graber gift certificate, and the winner of the “Halloween Fright” category will receive a night’s worth of trick-or-treat candy!

Both individuals and businesses are encouraged to participate. The City will also produce a map of all registered locations so the community can walk or drive around and enjoy the displays together.
