About the Campaign

July 5th - 1:00 PM

Our own local self-taught historian, Sally Paramore, will host a tour of the Historic Chewelah Pioneer Cemetery. She'll share information about the major restorations, locating lost gravesites, and stories about some of the many veterans buried there.

Important Details:

  • Volunteers will be there to assist with parking and point attendees in the right direction.
  • There is parking in front of the cemetery by the fence (do leave space for walking by the fence as this will be part of the tour), and limited parking up on the hill in the cemetery by the dumpster. Approximately 20 cars total can fit between the different locations.
  • Do not attempt to drive up the right side of the cemetery unless you have an all-wheel vehicle. It is very steep.
  • Participants should expect to be standing or walking the majority of the time. There are very few places to sit during the tour.
  • Please bring water and wear appropriate footwear for the terrain. Tour involves hiking an estimated 1.5 miles, walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Tours starts at 1 PM, so please plan to arrive early enough to park and walk to the starting point.
