Each October, Haunted Histories & Mysteries of Port Townsend invites locals and visitors to step into the shadows of the town’s storied—and sometimes unsettling—past. Offered on select dates throughout the month, these guided Haunted Walks wind through historic streets, weaving together true history, eerie local lore, unexplained happenings, and mysteries that have lingered for generations.

Led by local historian and storyteller Joyce Hester, each walk uncovers the darker side of Port Townsend’s past—from grand Victorian buildings and long-forgotten businesses to tales of scandal, tragedy, restless spirits, and encounters that still defy explanation. Along the way, discover the people and places behind the stories and hear chilling accounts passed down through the years.
