Thunderbird Salvage is a Philadelphia-based reuse and salvage business rooted in sustainability, hard work, and community access. Since 2015, the team has specialized in recovering materials from estate and business cleanouts—giving new life to items that would otherwise end up in landfills. Through this hands-on process, Thunderbird Salvage has become a trusted neighborhood resource, providing affordable goods while promoting environmental responsibility.
Since 2018, Thunderbird has operated out of a historic church building at 2437–49 Frankford Avenue in Kensington—originally the Frankford Avenue Baptist Church, a structure dating back to the late 19th century and recognized for its architectural and cultural significance.
Now, Thunderbird Salvage has the opportunity to purchase this building and secure its long-term home. This fundraiser supports the acquisition and necessary repairs of the historic property—ensuring that both the building and Thunderbird’s mission of reuse, sustainability, and community service can continue for generations to come.
