About the Campaign
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. First established in 1984, the event began as a way to encourage neighborhood involvement in crime prevention and strengthen community connections. Today, millions of people across the country participate each year in family-friendly events that bring together residents, police, firefighters, emergency responders, and local organizations.
