☃️ Heart of Christmas Snowman Competition

Help us transform Downtown Poplar Bluff into a winter wonderland!

As part of Heart of Christmas: Hometown Holiday, area schools are invited to participate in our Downtown Snowman Competition. Each participating school or school group will be assigned a downtown light pole to transform into its own creative snowman.

There is no cost to participate. We want students to get creative, work together and help bring Christmas spirit to Downtown Poplar Bluff for the entire community to enjoy.

Once completed, the snowmen will become part of the Heart of Christmas downtown experience throughout the holiday season.

Competition Details

Cost: FREE for participating schools

Location: Downtown Poplar Bluff

Decorating Deadline: November 25, 2026

Theme: Snowman

Prize: $500 (for schools or kid organizations only)

All decorations must be completely installed on the assigned light pole no later than November 25.

What Are We Looking For?

Judges can consider:

Creativity • Christmas Spirit • Originality • Overall Appearance • Use of the Light Pole • School Spirit

Most importantly, have fun with it! We want each snowman to have its own personality and give families another reason to walk through and explore Downtown Poplar Bluff this Christmas.

$500 Prize (For student groups such as schools, boys and girls clubs, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc.)

We will select one participating student group to receive a $500 prize.
