This Christmas season, the City of DeRidder invites you to be part of something truly special: a walking trail lined with Christmas trees, each one a glowing tribute to a loved one who will forever hold a place in our hearts.

The Downtown DeRidder Christmas Trail of Tribute transforms our community's walking trail into a luminous memorial, where every tree represents a cherished life, a treasured memory, and a love that never fades. Christmas is a season of warmth and togetherness, but for many of us it is also a time when we feel most keenly the absence of those we've lost. This trail creates a place to come together, to remember, and to celebrate the people who shaped us.

Whether you walk the trail alone in quiet reflection or bring the whole family to find the tree you dedicated, this is a space where grief and gratitude can coexist beautifully, surrounded by lights, community, and love.

On Display: All trees and memorial tags will be lit and ready by November 28, 2026, in time for the Merry & Bright event, and will remain up throughout the entire holiday season.

There are two meaningful ways to participate. Reserve a dedicated Christmas tree along the trail, personalized with a custom memorial tag bearing your loved one's name, yours to take home as a keepsake when the season ends. Or, if you'd like to honor someone in a simpler way, purchase a personalized memorial tag to be hung on the large community tree at the end of the trail by the City of DeRidder.

Either way, a name is remembered. A light shines. A life is honored.
