Think your pooch has what it takes to become the Dog Mayor of DeRidder? Now is your chance to put them on the ballot! The City of DeRidder is inviting dog parents to register their dogs for this exciting community fundraiser benefiting the Beauregard Bark Park!

Election Timeline

• SEPTEMBER | Register your dog candidate!: Submit your dog’s photo and their "campaign platform" (Why do they deserve to lead?)
• OCTOBER | Voting - The Main Election: It’s time to hit the pavement! Friends, family, and neighbors can cast their votes ($1 per vote).
• NOV. 2 | Official Press Conference: We will host a formal announcement naming the winner and the official "swearing in" our new Dog Mayor. The term will be January 2027 to December 2027.

WHAT DOES THE WINNER GET?

The Dog Mayor will represent the City of DeRidder in at least two parades, at ribbon cuttings and other community events, and will receive an official "Mayor Portrait."

THE TOP 12 DOGS

Will be featured in a 2027 Calendar, which will be available to the public for purchase.

HOW IT WORKS

Once registration closes, the community will cast their votes by making donations in support of their favorite candidate. Every $1 donated equals one vote, and every dollar raised goes directly to support the Beauregard Bark Park. It’s a fun, friendly competition that celebrates our community’s love for dogs while funding much-needed improvements at the Dog Park for everyone's benefit and enjoyment.
