About the Campaign
“Where History Inspires the Future” is a self-guided walking tour through Historic Downtown Somerville. This tour will guide you through some of the most significant historic locations and their modern day uses. Linger and experience our Downtown rich history and its important place in the development of the immediate area and Somerset County as a whole. Don’t miss Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage just outside Downtown. They played a crucial role in the history of Somerville and Somerset County, plus it’s an easy and pleasant walk from the Main Street. As you are walking our storied streets, be on the lookout for encounters from the past. Many travelers reported what can only be described as paranormal activity, especially in and around The Hotel Somerset. With Downtown Somerville’s roots going back to the late 1600’s, it would be surprising not to.
Extensive efforts were made to present the most accurate information. If any inconsistencies or inaccuracies are found, please kindly report them to the creator of this interactive tour. Thank you and please enjoy our historic Downtown!
