The Downtown Somerville Holiday Banner Sponsorship Program offers businesses, families, and residents an opportunity to celebrate the season while supporting the beautification and enhancement of our downtown district. This program helps create a festive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the holiday season while establishing a sustainable funding source for seasonal decorations and downtown improvements.

Banner Display Period

Holiday banners will be professionally installed throughout Downtown Somerville each year and will remain on display from Thanksgiving through January 31, providing prominent visibility during the holiday shopping season, year-end celebrations, and the start of the new year.

Banner Lifespan & Renewal

• Each sponsored banner will have a five-year sponsorship term.
• Sponsors will receive recognition on the same banner for the full five-year period.
• At the conclusion of the five-year term, sponsors will have the opportunity to renew their sponsorship and maintain their placement.

Installation & Maintenance

The Downtown Somerville Alliance will coordinate the installation, removal, and maintenance of all holiday banners. To ensure a high-quality appearance throughout the sponsorship term, the program includes:

• Professional installation and removal of banners.
• A guaranteed replacement within the five-year sponsorship period if a banner is damaged due to weather, normal wear and tear, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Ongoing monitoring to maintain the festive appearance of the downtown district.
