The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation (EMBDC) is the leading economic and community development organization for Meridian and Lauderdale County. Our mission is to create a vibrant and prosperous future for all our residents. We achieve this through a multi-faceted approach that includes business recruitment, workforce development, and strategic community-building initiatives.
When you support the EMBDC, you are powering the programs that are essential to our community's growth and vitality. These programs are the pillars of our work:
- Downtown Meridian (Main Street): This program is dedicated to the revitalization of our historic downtown core. Through promotions, events like the Sip & Shop, and strategic partnerships, we work to make downtown a thriving destination for businesses, residents, and visitors.
- Women's Alliance of Meridian (WAM): WAM is focused on empowering women in our community through networking, professional development, and mentorship. It provides a platform for female leaders to connect, learn, and support one another.
- Young Professionals of Meridian (YPM): This program is designed to attract and retain young talent in our region. YPM provides networking, volunteer, and leadership development opportunities to help the next generation of leaders build their careers and connect with the community.
- Leadership Lauderdale (LL & YLL): Our premier leadership development programs for both adults and youth. Participants get an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at how our community works, giving them the knowledge and connections they need to become effective community leaders.
