About the Campaign
The City of Duncanville is proud to introduce the Hometown Champions Banner Program, a heartfelt initiative dedicated to honoring our local veterans and active-duty military personnel. This program offers families, friends, and organizations the opportunity to celebrate the sacrifices and service of loved ones in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Personalized banners featuring honorees will be prominently displayed along Wheatland Road.

Guidelines
How to Participate
- Register a Veteran: Complete the form with the information about the Veteran, including the proof of service and the photo you'd like to have displayed on the banner. Submit payment for banner to be printed and installed.
- Become a General Sponsor: Businesses, organizations, and individuals can make a general contribution to support the program. These funds help cover additional costs, such as banner installation, maintenance, and program enhancements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Honorees: Must be an active-duty service member, veteran, or a member of the reserves of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Connection to Duncanville: Honorees must have been born, raised, or currently reside in Duncanville, or have immediate family members who live in the city.
- Proof of Service: Applicants must submit documentation verifying military service (e.g., DD214 form, military ID, or discharge papers).
Program Details
- Banner Design: Each banner will feature a high-resolution photo of the honoree in uniform (if available), their name, military branch, and service details such as years of service or deployment locations.
- Banner Location: Banners will be prominently displayed along Wheatland road, street light poles
- Display Period: Banners will be displayed for three months, after which families will have the option to renew the display or receive the banner as a keepsake.
Important Dates
- Banner Installation: Banners will be installed in May and will remain on display through July.
