About the Campaign
The Rouge River Cleanup Day is a fantastic opportunity for Birmingham residents to come together and make a positive impact on our local environment. This event brings together community groups, churches, schools, environmental organizations, scouts, and neighborhood associations to help remove invasive species along the riverbank, ensuring that the Rouge River remains a beautiful and healthy part of our city. Join us in protecting this precious natural resource and making a difference in our community!

How To Participate
The clean-up will be on Saturday, May 9th, 2026
10am-12pm
Recommended items to wear & bring:
- Boots or sturdy shoes
- Long pants & long-sleeve shirt
- Hat
- Sunscreen
Volunteers should dress according to prevailing weather conditions. Mosquito repellent, gloves and bags will be provided.
