2026 Smithville Empty Bowl Project
About the Campaign
Our Mission:
The Smithville Empty Bowl Project is a grassroots effort to ensure the health and well-being of our community in all areas. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a donation, guests may also keep a bowl created by local students. For sponsorships starting at $100, guests may also keep a ceramic item, hand-painted by local artisans. The money raised is disbursed to five local organizations focused on nutrition and food security, health and well being, art classes and art as mental health therapy, and health education.
Our Partners:
The Smithville Food Pantry, Smithville Community Gardens, Lost Pines Artisans' Alliance, Smithville Community Clinic & S. Williams Angels Unaware Ministry are working together to bring a fun, informative day to the citizens of Smithville.
The Event:
The next Empty Bowl Event will take place on March 28, 2026 from 11AM-2PM at the Smithville Recreation Center (106 Royston). The silent auction items, student-made bowls, and sponsor bowls, trays, and other items will be on display there as well. You can stop to eat your soup outdoors or pick up anything you want to take with you. Order early and pick up your sponsorship gift before the event!
