How to Participate -
- Adopt a Bench or Tree: Explore our map of available benches and trees to find the perfect spot for your dedication. These locations have been identified by our organization and are ready for you to claim. If you have a location in mind that isn’t listed, click ‘Propose’ on our Community Profile to suggest your preferred spot for a new bench or tree.
- Submit Payment: Once you've chosen an available bench or tree, click ‘Adopt this Item’ to complete your purchase online. You’ll receive a confirmation email with a letter acknowledging your tax-deductible contribution. For those preferring to pay by check, please send your payment to our organization’s office.
- Customize Your Plaque and Digital Story: After your donation is processed, you’ll receive an email invitation to join SeeMyLegacy, where you can personalize your plaque message and begin crafting the Digital Story that will accompany your dedication.
Our Guidelines -
- Installation: Once payment is received, our organization will arrange for the bench or tree to be installed and maintained at your chosen location. Installations will occur during suitable weather conditions and when our team is available.
- Public Use: Please note that the bench or tree you dedicate will be accessible to the public. As the donor, you will have no ownership rights beyond the dedication itself, in line with our organization’s policies.
- Content Moderation: Our organization reserves the right to review and approve all plaque messages and digital stories. Any content that is obscene, defamatory, infringing on third-party rights, factually inaccurate, or otherwise inappropriate may be moderated or rejected.
- Maintenance: We will maintain the bench or tree for a period of up to 10 years. In the event of vandalism, theft, or damage, we may choose to repair or replace the bench or plaque at our discretion.
